Be aware of drivers in Portugal. They are some of the craziest on the planet. Even walking through the narrow, cobbled streets of a village I was almost run over by someone probably doing over 60kph.
I really enjoyed the PT camino except for this reason. I have just completed a few weeks...
You only need basic Spanish to understand Gronze. Surely that's not beyond people? It's kind of neat that its not in English. You may even learn something :)
I am pretty sure most of your issues could be fixed with a decent pair of ear plugs. I have recently stumbled upon these foam ones that actually work...

I carry a fold up ultralight backpack that weighs just a few grams. At all times I have my valuables on me in albergues. I would not trust every pilgrim you meet. I know a few people who have had stuff go missing.
Maybe it's just me, but if I was in a group of pilgrims who had all met on a Camino and there was someone obviously not in a group, but sharing the same dorm, I would not ignore them when it came to eating out etc. Some people are inconsiderate.
Caminos can be tough on introverts.
Hello from Ponte de Lima where a number of pilgrims are still homeless, wandering around in the half light of sunset. I started from Porto a few days ago and its been busy in the Albergues without the bed rush, but I fear this is changing now.
I just bumped into a couple of female peregrinos...
Long first day. Tough on the feet, but already prefer this to the VDLP, like 100 times more.
Currently having a cold beer in the Albergue Municipal in Sao Pedro de Rates. Was a hot day!
Nothing wrong with a bit of wild camping. Just repect the land and leave no trace, camp from dusk to dawn. Not sure why so many people are against wild camping, its a shame to see on this forum.
I much prefer the food in Portugal compared to it's larger neighbour. So much so, that I am probably going to stop on the Portuguese side of the border on the 5th night rather than staying in Tui.
In Porto now, wonderful weather and forcast looks very good. Like this city so much that I might...
In case anyone is wondering why I am not walking from here imn Lison. Well I met someone recently who said its a very lonely walk up to Porto and most of it is by road. There is very little infrastructure too apparently, and what they said seems to tie in with what I have read.
Hello from Lisbon! I am due to start walking from Porto in a couple of days and thought I'd try and add some helpful information for future pilgrims as I travel towards Santiago. I am planning for about 10 days.
I was on the Via de la Plata before, but stopped after one week. To cut a long...
I am in Lisbon now and been trying to find a decent outdoor shop, I find Decathlon gear to be cheap and nasty. Does anyone know a better quality place? Seems odd that in a capital city there are no decent outdoor shops!
I never use plastic in a restaurant in ANY country, only cash.
Another reason is when the wait staff selects your own currency which always results in you being screwed over by the bank.
