Hi Mick,
Thanks for the reply and the information. Will you be posting daily, weekly updates on your trip? If so, I look forward to reading them.
Once again, Thank you
Hello all !
I am currently starting my planning for my (Del Sud) walk from Rome to Santa Maria de Leuca and I cannot seem to find any information about a mobile mapping app for this route. (If one even exists!).
I did purchase the english version of the Terre di Mezzo guidebook after paying...
Great wrap up report.
The Via Francigena is unlike any other Camino. I thoroughly enjoyed not being amongst the throngs of people (especially this year) which received their compostela's this year.
Great write up and you were "Spot-on" throughout.
The VF is certainly a different Camino than any other I have ever walked, but well worth the efforts.
Going back to walk Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca.
Good morning everyone,
I haven't been on this site for a while, since returning home from my Via Francigena trip this last summer.
Now that the fall season is upon us and in an effort to cope with my post trip depression (LOL!), it is time to start my planning for the second half of the trip...
I saw just a few "couples" walking together. Surprisingly, throughout 90 days I encountered only about 15 people actually walking the trail(s) to Rome.
Having walked the VF this last summer, I encountered 6 solo female walkers. Of the 6 I spoke with 4 and learned that each were well seasoned walkers who had walked/climbed "numerous" places throughout the world. None expressed any apprehensions about being solo.
