On the CPI I got to Lamego during the "Our Lady of the Milk" festival. It was quite beautiful. The CPI late August-Sept at harvest season was absolutely gorgeous, especially the first 8 days through the Duoro. Yes, I took that train too, but don't think the whole trip is necessary. Yes, about 2 hours. I would just recommend an hour and then back.- karidadpoethig

I walked the Camino Portuguese Interior last year (2017) and plan to walk the full Camino Torres to Santiago starting May 2019.
