I always take the train from CDG to Paris - get off at Gare du Nord or further on, depending on where my accommodation is.

    Cheapest way to Seville

I flew into Madrid, arriving around noon, then got an afternoon train to Sevilla. It worked a treat and for me was both convenient and economical (if you book the train well ahead). I came from Australia, and my walking mates did the same from their base in Paris.

Visa for Americans for more than 90 days?

I have friends who successfully obtained a 12 month visa for France, which I would expect to be similar. I asked her about how it worked and this is her (verbatim) reply: It was fiddly but doable. I you go onto the visas-fr page, complete the quiz - they tell you what you should apply for and...

Logrono back to Biarritz airport. HELP!

In my experience you can pretty well just front up at the bus station in Logroño and buy a ticket on a bus to San Sebastian or Irun.

    Santiago to Lisbon transport

I took a train from Santiago to Porto (all change at Vigo), enjoyed a couple of chill days in Porto, and then a nice train ride to Lisbon. It was a fabulous wind-down after an equally fabulous and rewarding Lisbon to Santiago pilgrimage.

I arrived at Biarritz airport mid-afternoon. I stayed the night at the hotel opposite the terminal. In the morning I walked to the train station, got a train to Bayonne, then the connecting train to St Jean. At St Jean I stopped in at the Pilgrim Office, got sorted there, and set off for...

    Early morning Biarritz to Bayonne

There are two early morning trains from Biarritz station to Bayonne station, getting you there in time for your SJPdP connection. I also stayed at a (the?) hotel near the airport. The train station is about a half hour walk or a 5 minute taxi ride.

From CDG to Biarritz or? to get to Irun

There are quite a lot of flights from Paris to Biarritz but some of them go from Paris Orly airport not CDG. Check the Air France website and try entering CDG as the departure port. You can actually walk from Biarritz airport to the train station in under half an hour. I thought of it as the...

On my arrival day at Paris CDG, I transferred to Paris Orly and flew to Biarritz, walked to a hotel that is between the airport and the train station, had a nice dinner and a good night's sleep.
