I flew into Madrid, arriving around noon, then got an afternoon train to Sevilla. It worked a treat and for me was both convenient and economical (if you book the train well ahead).

Simple. You can walk from Biarritz airport to the train station in half an hour or less, jump in any train to Hendaye, walk across the bridge and you are in Irun, yellow arrows and all.
There are two early morning trains from Biarritz station to Bayonne station, getting you there in time for your SJPdP connection. I also stayed at a (the?) hotel near the airport. The train station is about a half hour walk or a 5 minute taxi ride.
