Shipping backpack - Do albergues charge to hold bags for people not staying there?
I was a hospitalera in Astorga and occasionally Pilgrims who were staying in a nearby hotel would ship their pack to the Albergue. It just showed up with other packs. Not a good idea. Takes up space and distracts from the time we needed to register and work with pilgrims staying in the Albergue...- Irenie

Alternative to Allianz travel insurance
Sorry for any confusion. Most policies include medical, so I was mainly looking for a policy that covers medical and my costs paid before I leave like airfare and any other prepaid costs.- Irenie

I just purchased my ticket to Portugal and have aged out of the airline insurance. I’ve used Allianz in the past and have made claims twice. And once when I called from Spain with a problem, they called several times to check on me, while I was on the Camino, even though I didn’t make a claim...- Irenie

Thanks so much for your reply, Jill. I bet trying to return in time with a five hour layover would be a stretch. And I'm definitely concerned even with seven hours, especially when I don't know what the exit and return procedures will be. A lot is unknown about that time in between. There must...- Irenie
