Just an update...our poles arrived today from Santiago about 1 and 1/2 weeks after we mailed them. They were unharmed being packaged in a padded envelope. So glad we chose this option since we paid about $100 for each pair. For us, it was well worth the money to ship them home. :)
Just curious where you stayed outside St Jean. We have also booked a place about a mile outside the city on the Napolean route! Glad to hear you got so quickly out of the airport. We have a tight connection to our train after we land but no luggage stop as we are only bringing carryons.
Just wanted to report we had no problem purchasing tickets on SNCF with our American credit card! Thanks for all the advice ...it felt better to be prepared with some other options in case it didn't work! People here are so helpful! :)
I know this is an older thread but hoping I can find some help! Planning to purchase tickets from SNCF tomorrow and doing it from USA. What is the problem exactly and what can I do about it?
Thank you for all the advice and responses. We will look into a train ticket (when available!) that is refundable and/or transferrable and have Montparnasse trains as our backup plan. Good to know that it wouldn't be that difficult to get there from CDG.
We absolutely love the planning stage...
Looking for advice! We are flying into CDG this summer and landing at terminal 2E around 6am. Is there any hope of making it to the TGV train leaving at 8am for Bayonne? We have reservations made in St Jean Pied de Port for that night. Was really hoping to avoid having to get to Montparnasse...
