In Defense of Booking Com
I agree that it is very easy to book a place nowhere near the place you want, always check the map on the site. Another annoying mistake if if you are booking in late February for a night or two away, the calander that comes up is March, which matches the days of the week as February in non-leap...- Stuart S

In Defense of Booking Com
I usually use B.com when travelling but I have found that sometimes going through Trivago the B.com price is cheaper than on the B.com site, and occasionally a hotel will appear through Trivago for B.com which is not even on the B.com site. Best to check various websites to get the best price.- Stuart S

I too am from western Canada and the method I am getting to Lisbon is booking a round trip ticket direct to London where I have a night or two layover to get over jet lag. From London I then buy a one way to Lisbon, there are lots of direct flights available from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and...- Stuart S
