Bus to Finesterre spend the night, as Nate says, walk to Muxia the next day and spend the night there, then bus back to Santiago. Nice 3 day excursion. You can make the walk to Muxia in 1 day or break into 2 days by staying in Lires.
I used the Rail Europe site to book my Renfe TrenHotel seats from Santiago to Madrid. Worked just fine ... well, at least it claims to have booked us 2 beds in a quad room (ladies only), charged my credit card and issued electronic tickets. Hoping for the best when we try to get on the train...
I just called both American Airlines and Iberia, as my flight from Chicago to Madrid is an American/codeshare with Iberia ... was basically told the same that they told Anniesantiago ... not to worry, but keep checking as your flight date draws near ... for me, that is Monday, April 9th!! Guess...
I haven't found this addressed anywhere on the Forum so hopefully someone knows .... does the Madrid airport levy an airport tax coming or going from the USA? This would be a tax that is paid on the ground at the airport itself. I remember doing this going and coming from some of the airports...
