My kids and I used Express Bourricot from SJPdP to SDC between end of Sep to middle of Nov 2022, and worked great and no additional fee for all that number of days. The Express Bourricot office in SJPdP is right next door to the Pilgrims Office. The only thing was, when we got our luggage back...
Food for thought, depending on your luggage's weight/bulk, and your accommodation's location in SJPdP, the bus from Pamplona stops about 4-6 blocks away from the citadel. Last year I had a hell time dragging my luggage from the bus stop to my accommodation near the Pilgrims Office at the Rue de...
Buen Camino! If no one contacts you about sharing ride from Pamplona to SJPdP, just look around for people with backpacks or go the taxi queue in Pamplona, there are always people willing to share taxi ride.
The once daily bus service leaves Pamplona for SJPdP around noon; around two hours...
When we stayed there in Sep 2022, we booked for two days. But on the morning of the second day, we were waken up by what Fleur told us night before as angels. We had a few minutes to prepare and leave the premises and to come back when they open for the day. So, yes, you can stay for two days...
Hello,
I just recently got back home from doing the Frances (Apr-Jun2023). Through the entire pilgrimage, I pre-booked my accommodations knowing my itineraries. Knowing how far I am walking for the day, and which accommodations to pre-book (from previous experience). Pre-booking gave me the...
Yes. Take the bus if available.
It happened to us Sep 2022. This guy promised up and down for days he would wait and share ride with us to SJPDP. As soon as he saw others heading to SJPDP, he left with them. Poor us!
You are about in the boat as we were when we tried to get to SJPdP to start our Camino last September. I believe the last bus for SJPDP leaves Pamplona (train station) around noon. Giving you no option (as we did) but to take a taxi if you plan to start your Camino the next day. The going rate...
When we shared a taxi from Pamplona train station to SJPDP just last September 2022, we paid the standard fare of 135 Euros for all four (4) of us. NOT for each!
Yes, take the bus if you can. Please don't rely on promised share a ride. There was this guy who swore up and down he'd wait and share ride, but soon as he arrived in Pamplona and saw other pilgrims looking for share ride to SJPDP, he was gone and left us wanting. There will be many others...
There are train rides from DeGaulle to SJPDP but with transfer/change to local trains in Bayonne I believe that will take you direct to SJPDP, a few blocks from albergues, etc and the Pilgrims' Office. Pretty much the same day.
The best city to fly in if you're starting from SJPDP is Paris. You can catch a train from CDG with connecting local train directly to SJPDP.
Flying into Madrid or Barcelona you would end up staying one night in Pamplona so you can catch a bus to SJPDP. Or pay 135 Euros for a taxi ride to SJPDP.
David,
I just called Fermin Teletaxi and I was told to call them back for a taxi when we arrive on September 25. Lesson learned; do not try to do business in Spain on a Sunday!
Joe
David,
I just attempted to make taxi ride reservation with Fermin Teletaxi but the 25th of September is no longer selectable option. Only from September 26 and later are selectable. It looks like we need to make a contract with available and willing taxi driver when we get there.
All the best,
Joe
David, since you are arriving in Pamplona train station earlier that me, how do you want us to set up the taxi ride arrangement? We arrive at around 3pm at the train station. I read in the forum that reservation is not really needed but I want to ensure we get to SJPdP early evening Sep 25...
Hello Chris,
I sent you a text message via the phone number you gave me, as well as an email to inquire how to set up the ride share we communicated about. Also, there is another pilgrim (David Hoff) who's looking for ride share on September 25. Hope to hear from you. Stay safe,
Joe

Hi there David,
There's 3 of us Ramos family and Chris who agreed to share taxi ride from Pamplona and SJPdP on September 25. My family arrives in Pamplona at around 3pm, and Chris arrives around 130pm. We still have to finalize things, but I'm sure it will be alright to share the taxi ride.
Joe
After much research, I surmised that the easier way to get to SJPdP if it is where you start your camino is from Paris. You can pretty much catch a train ride after you get off your plane at Charles de Gaulle then straight to SJPdP. If use Madrid, and/or Pamplona as transfer point to get to...
I have been checking for cheaper rides to Saint Jean from Pamplona for September 25, but from what I see; planes, buses, and trains arrive at Pamplona around 2pm. For now Conda buses' schedule for August from Pamplona to SJPdP depart @ 12noon & 230pm, arrive at SJPdP at 145pm & 415pm...
