Walking the northern coast of Spain

If you stay in El Pito along the way, after you rested up head out in the evening for a 45 min walk down to Cudillero...it is off the trail and we found it by accident. It's a cool, tourist little place on the ocean...several restaurants...go have dinner there and breathe in the ocean air.

Anyone starting at Irun around 24th of September?

We started in Irun a month ago and are 5 days away from Santiago now. You won't see many pilgrims...it's quiet. In total, we perhaps encountered 2 or 3 dozen total. And weather turning somewhat colder now....we start walking in AM and it's usually around 13 to 15 Celcius these days. The highs...

In Markina Xeimen, I think there is only one place...we stayed there a few weeks back. You should book now: Casa Intxauspe

    Accomodation at Markina - Xemein

We just went through Markina the other day and stayed at Casa Intxauspe...we had pre-booked but they had extra room for pilgrims who got caught without lodgings....they even set up a tent or two as last resort for a few. Good luck. We are now in Bilbao but leaving tomorrow for Portgaletes.

LIVE from the Camino Accommodation experience, first 8 nights

Most start in France and walk into Spain, thus you need to follow French rules also. If you fly to Spain direct, then ignore all about France. Spain has no health pass and we are welcome.

We start the Norte from Biarritz on Aug 13....we use Caminoways Tours so all of our accommodations are set. However, it sounds like it will be very quiet.

    Crossing from France

I have not heard of an "Activities Card" in order to fly internally from Paris to Biarriz...let me know more.

    Crossing from France

We did take the train from Paris to Bayonne in 2016 to do the Frances...nice countryside ride taking about 4 hours. This time we land in Paris, wait 3 hours, and fly Air France to Biarritz; about a 90 minute flight. Either way, it's all good.

    Crossing from France

My wife and I arrive into Biarritz from Canada on Aug 13. We are walking the Norte. We will walk from Biarritz to St Jean de Luz and then to Irun. These initial 2 days promises to be a beautiful walk (many folks start Norte from Biarritz or Bayonne) leading up to the official start in Irun. You...

Norte or Frances in September? (For a woman, given fewer pilgrims in 2021)

My wife and I will start Norte August 15...I'll post after that. It's our third Camino and we consider them safe; however, we wish you'd find a partner :)

Starting the Camino del Norte at the end of August

In our case, we are using CaminoWays to pre book the whole thing. A little spoiled perhaps. I'll update here once we start walking.

Starting the Camino del Norte at the end of August

We arrive in Irun August 15th to walk full Norte including Finisterre. Originally scheduled for July 24 but postponed out of Covid caution. Hopefully all OK by then. I will follow this post as we get closer.
