Not exactly. More like I did both Caminos on a single trip to Spain.
Madrid-Sahagun (Camino Madrid)
bus to Leon, train to Madrid then Granada
Granada-Cordoba (Camino Mozarabe)
actually before Cordoba. I had already cycle Cordoba-Merida last year.
Then I walk backwards towards Malaga (Mozarabe's...
Don't quote me on that since there must be a limit somewhere, hehehe.
I did load like 7 camino kmls onto an offline map of Spain and saw 7 lines on the map. At least I know that I can load multiple kmls onto the map app and see/use them all at once.
It's a route I took in 2012 too.
Back then I didn't have the kml but I did have Maps.me app (offline maps of Spain). It has kml support. You might want to try this app to see if helps (no limits on kml size). Supports both iOS and Android (for iOS you just mail the kml and open it with Maps.me.
Are you able to log in with your Google account and access the file?
If not, try this.... I'd move it to Dropbox...

Sorry to hear that. I see the problem is the first step, getting on board the flight.
Not sure if this will help but I had the luxury of visiting Santiago de Compostela before I even knew what the Camino is about. Saw the rugged weather beaten pilgrims so elated when they arrived I had to asked...
It gets a bit better in the later stages. This is the Camino I believed that a local SIM card with data is most effective. I use it a lot to discover beach area so I can safely detour slightly to them and back on the.Camino again. Have discovered many beaches that are essentially empty with...
Camino del Norte is more expensive because of that. Many albergue in the Basque area are actually youth hostel and cost 14 euros or more. In later places, those without albergue usually have hostal which is around 25 euros.
A tent is an alternative but then there is the extra weight issue and...
I have used Yoigo and recently Orange. You can get them anywhere, not just Corte Ingles.
I have mainly gotten mine at the train station (Madrid, Barcelona) or mobile shop at the supermarket or any shopping street. Remember to bring your passport for registration.
The best deal are those 20-25...
You are right on that Jacquie.
Irun is not that bad though and it has an donativo albergue and one can stay and get their credentials.
Hondarribia is on the way and around 5 km from Irun and I did wish I could spent more time there as it is a nice fishing town.
Places to stay in Hondarribia...
El Niño is the weather pattern for the Pacific Ocean affecting asia the west coast of the Americas. For the Atlantic and Spain the weather pattern is driven by the Gulf stream.
That said, it is said that it usually have an opposite effect on the Altantic and you should have a drier weather.
Just top of my head, the distance between Santander and Santillana del mar is a bit too long for a day. I had to stay at a hostal/hotel in a town 10 km after Santander so I can make it to santillana del mar the following day. That might be a good place for you.
Joe,
You will enjoy the cyclist/pedestrian path tomorrow to La Arena (coast) and lovely walk along the edge. Your lodging would a challenge. No albergue in Onton and you have to detour a few km inland to find a place to stay (which kinda suck). If you chose this route you will have to walk the...
Joe, the albergue in Potugalete is not opened yet. 2012 I stayed at the hostel near the central. Can't remember the name but it was only 16 euros with shared bathroom. At least I have the room all to myself.
I decided to get there from Bilbao by walking along the waterway (opposite the...
Glad you have a nice rest day in Zarutz. Did mention some tough days after. To Deba was the worse. In 2012 I had to stay on a makeshift albergue (abandon school) up on the hill.
Like Joe says it will get better after Guernika. I had problem with lodging after Guernika as the albergue was closed...
Glad you have the same experience as me. Yes, it was a well deserved rest as the following days will get tougher.
Not sure which route you will be going by (more coastal to Ribadeo or Oviedo to Camino Primitivo). If you are on the coastal route you can't miss the albergue 12 km before Ribadeo...
I stayed there in 2012. Only one place available and that's a huge Youth hostel. Top of my head it is near where you depart Zarautz.
Walk as if you are leaving Zarautz, then at the end of Zarautz there will be a climb up the hill. Just before the climb there is a main road. Follow the road...
