I agree with Keith, just learn a handful of words. Saying "bed please" or "beer please" most likely will give you some result.
(Remember how kids are doing? They can play with kids from other countries without any word in common and still can play together well ;) )
Personally, I'm more afraid of ticks, but that's because my wife has gotten really sick of one and needed years of recovery. Does anyone know if the spanish ticks bear of borrelia?
