We are walking the Via de la Plata January through March 2020. It's very hard to find definitive answers about albergue closures/openings or weather. We are grabbing bits and pieces of info from everywhere and are trying to make it into a cohesive picture of what it will be like. In other...
Has anyone walked the Plata from beginning of January through the end of February ? If so what was the weather and temperatures you encountered and how difficult was it to find lodging ?
We will be leaving from Seville in the beginning of January 2020. We trekked the Frances twice in eleven months and are looking forward to the "Camino less traveled". Hopefully, the weather will not be to severe. We have just started our planning ie; distances/albergues, food, etc. We are slow...
We will be starting the VdlP right around the first of October 2019. Definitely like the cooler weather. We hope it will be cooler in 2019 then in 2018. :-) Did the Frances in the fall...very nice, did the Frances in Aug-Sept, way to HOT !
Buen Caminos ;-)

We, wife and I with 2 Frances in 11 months, behind us are planning a end of September 2019 or October 1, 2019 start of the Via de la Plata. We are starting our planning now. Buen Camino
I wouldn't say that the Frances is completely easy, but having trekked it twice we, found the number of people dramatically increased between Sarria and Santiago from one year to the next ... the 100 k'ers. Hence in 2019, we are off to trek the Via de la Plata, a road less traveled :-)
You posting are a treasure trove of information that I will glean all I can from them to use on the Via de la Plata in 2019 ... Thank You ! Buen Camino !!!! :D
We were thinking of doing another Frances after doing it twice in 11 months(2016 & 2017), but we are so glad to learn about this Camino. Now it we are starting to gather all the information we can to be able do this in Sept. 2019 Thank You all for posting the information here !!! :-)
