I learned early on its about the journey and not the destination. I was fully immersed once I saw my first view of fellow pilgrims walking through Ferrol.
Just to add to the SabsP's and the other answers above..
1. The tourism office, which is on the harbor front and a few steps away from the start of the Camino marker. The lines can get long so just keep that in mind. I visited the afternoon I arrived in Ferrol, and got some recommendations on...
You can get a credential from the tourism office, its near the starting point in the harbor: P.º Mariña, 6, 15401 Ferrol, A Coruña, Spain. You can also get a credential from the Cathedral when it is open,
I don't know about pilgrims office in Ferrol. there was not one when I did my walk...
When I went in 2021, I stayed at Hotel Almendra n Ferrol: Nice room and they let me store my bags when I arrived before check in time. l and had a wonderful meal at Casa Muraxa. In Neda I stayed at pension Marigato with nice clean rooms and beautiful view of the estuary from my room and a great...
Buen Camino! On my arrival day I explored Ferrol and walked down to the start of the Camino. Then on the day I started walking, I just left from my hotel that was about one and a half kilometers from the start.
Camino Facil: https://caminofacil.net/en/
I used them when I walked the Ingles. I had an overnight in Pontedeume that they did not have on their list and they added it for me no problem.
Neda is good stop over to get you in the swing of the Camino. I used Camino Facil for luggage transfer and they were great. I had a couple of accommodations that were not on their web forms and I contacted them and they added my accommodations.
It was my first Camino experience, I went alone and I love it. I listened to a learning Spanish book on Audible so I had a few phrases down. I found that for the most part that if you try Spanish most people will work with you ( this is true for most countries and their languages based on my...
There ae a few evening buses that go to Ferrol. The Bus station is connected to the train station in SDC. I had to buy my tickets to Ferrol when I got the bus stations. Check out Rome2rio.com for schedules and links to the time tables.
HI Lauren. I walked the English Way in August of 2021. Spain was just reopening from Covid and the albergues were only allowing 50% occupancy. The pilgrims I met seemed to be finding accommodations the whole time. I had booked private rooms because it is a short Camino and I had concerns...
Check with the Tourist information office. They suggested an interesting exhibition of street art that I saw called the "Meninas of Canido" it seems to get expanded every year too.
Here's a link describing it: https://blog.turismo.gal/destinations-en/the-meninas-of-canido/
I used CaminoFacil on the Ingles and was able to book my luggage transfers a few months in advance. I was booked at one hotel in Pontedeume that they did not list on their website, and I used their messaging feature and they added it it to my itinerary in a few hours. I just had to give them...
