Just for current info I booked a taxi from SdC Airport going to the starting point of the Ingles today with Suntransfers at a cost of 118 Euros. There's x4 of us going and we want to knock off 10k on the first day due to time restrictions so it was an easy decision in the end...
I would recommend the Ingles, it was my first back in 2012 and am heading back to repeat it in October. Cannot wait although a little concerned about the comments made on here about some of the route changes. I'm sure it will be fine though.
I have walked the first five stages of the Norte and...
When we walked from Irun to Gernika in 2013 my two boys were 13 and 10 years old. They found it tough but were able to cope OK with a little gentle persuasion of course at times and the odd bribe of ice cream etc but generally they liked to lead the way, searching out the waymarks and pointing...
Hi Balian,
Loved going over your experiences of the Camino Ingles which was me and my mate Craig's first Camino back in 2012. We are from Bangor so nice to see a fellow countryman on the forum! You can have a laugh at our blog by clicking the link on my signature!
So much did I enjoy the...
Hi Marigold,
The Jonny Walker guide is superb so yes that is your first port of call. I must say I loved the Camino Ingles as it was my very first camino and still talk about it all the time. The difference was that I did it with a mate so we were happy enough plodding along alone. We did not...
GollyGolly - congratulations to you both on your Camino and hopefully the start of many many more to come. Also glad to hear the hills were all manageable and your daughter enjoyed it.
I walked the first five days of El Camino del Norte in the Basque Country back in July with my wife and two...
Do not underestimate the number of hills along the route. It will be tough especially if it is warm for an eight year old!
I walked the route last September with a friend and rarely a week goes by still that we are talking about it and going over our photos...you can have a giggle by reading...
Agree with JW...Benino will sort you out at Hospital de Bruma...he sorted us out with a three course meal including bread and wine...it went down a treat!
Hi there,
Like John says I'm not sure what you are asking. He has provided you with the distances.
I certainly wouldn't be considering walking to Ferrol from Santiago but I suppose that its your Camino so only you can decide on the best way to go. For Craig and me, we wanted to enjoy the...
Hi everyone,
Well it's been six weeks since we got back from our wonderful journey along the Camino Ingles. Must admit there's barely a day goes by that I don't look at the blog and recount stories with friends and family.
All in all we have raised approx. £1,000 for charity along the way and...
Here's the link to our Camino Ingles Blog - I hope you enjoy reading it and please remember it is NOT a travel guide but some of our experiences along the way. Feel free to PM or e-mail me with any queries and I will get right back to you...
My personal e-mail address is...

This is the report we submitted to a local paper here in Northern Ireland.
Neil Armstrong and Craig McGuicken are heading off to Spain on 8th September to walk the Camino Ingles (The English Way) in North West Spain. A shorter version of the main Camino Frances (The French Way) their trek takes...
08th September is fast approaching. I have purchased a new rucksack, I've got my credential and most importantly my Pilgrim Forum Badge...time to get out and do a little training I reckon! ...though to be honest the couple of walks I have done recently, the only issue I am having is...
Well its finally official...I've just received my Pilgrim Forum Badge...yee ha ! Counting down the days, it can't come quick enough.
Off to Barcelona today for a few days with the wife to celebrate our 40th
birthdays. Plenty of walking coming up I reckon...
Thanks for sending the...
Hi Wobbits,
I am flying out from Dublin in September to do the Ingles and am at that stage of that size of bag do I need to buy. Like you, my friend and I are carrying our bags onto the plane but I reckon from what I've read on my thread 'First time peregrinos doin the Camino Ingles' weight...
John and Andy,
Thanks to you both for taking the time to add your thoughts. I was even thinking that the rucksack I posted might have been too small, so that was welcome advice. A rethink is required and I have decided that I will visit the local stores to get a close up look and try them for...
Hi guys,
Just an update to confirm flights booked for September 2012... :D :D :D
We arrive on Saturday 08th September, returning to Dublin on Thursday 13th...
Sagalouts, I like the idea of doing that initial 11 kms from Ferrol to Neda the evening/night of our arrival; Craig is more up for...
