Anyone cycling Camino Norte in 2020?

I have been riding a bike for nearly 60 years. What gave you the impression that I would not use a bell?

Anyone cycling Camino Norte in 2020?

I am planning to cycle Camino Norte in September from Biarritz. I am planning the route at the moment and intend to use the Camino Norte Route but also mix it in with roads, lighthouses and other tracks. Is anybody else planning to cycle in 2020 who would like to share route information?

    Bikepacking on the camino.

Over the years I have bike packed parts of Camino Frances. Finding quiet clean places to put a bivvy bag is really not at all difficult. In my experience, if you walk a couple of hundred meters off almost any track in the world, you can find a spot to lay down. I will be riding Camino Norte...

    Bikepacking on the camino.

When it comes to wild camping I mean. Not criminal activities😁 I also do not wild camp on private property. Wild camping is not a criminal activity.

    Bikepacking on the camino.

This is a very contentious subject and the first thing the anti camping people will say is that is illegal. They can even post screenshots to show you it is illegal. It is not strictly true. The camping laws in Spain are very complex and vary from area to area. I can only assumed Debra has...

    Bottoms

I am an ultra distance rider and planning to ride from Biarritz to Santiago in September. I will use a mixture of Camino Norte and roads. I will also be visiting a few lighthouses. Lots of good advice already. I use Sudocreme for my nether regions. It works, its cheap, its widely available. Get...

Is there a well known popular cycle route for the Camino Norte. I am not talking about a recognised planned route. But a route used more than others. Especially the Spanish riders.

Camino Norte - Bikes on buses

Thanks for the replies. It gives me a couple of options and like always, once you have done it once, it is pretty obvious how the system works.

Camino Norte - Bikes on buses

I could do that if it was necessary Jeff. Its not difficult. Failing that I could just take my Brompton :) I rode it through Bulgaria last year. But thanks for the Rinko method. I have never heard of it before and so I will give it a go. I have all the gear to make a bag for it.

Camino Norte - Bikes on buses

I will be bringing my Giant MTB from Denmark to ride the Camino Norte in September. I will start in Irun and follow the Camino route and coastal road to Navia and then head to Santiago. My question is about bikes on buses along this coastal route. I may skip some sections between Irun and...

    Cycling Details

Martin, thanks for the advice about the post office. With regards to Ryanair. I have flown with them about 20 times. If my bike is in a box, all the rest of my gear goes in with it. Panniers, helmet shoes, the whole lot. You just need to keep it within the weight limit. I usually travel with...
