I walked the primitivo in 2017 Aug 31,and took only a silk liner. I would get cold in the night and have to rummage around in the dark and put on clothes. Only the hostal in boimorto had blankets. My companions were snug and warm in their bags. I walked the Salvador in 2019 and took a bag. I...
I walked the primitivo early September of 2017. I took a silk liner and found myself cold about 8 nights. I would wake up and fumble around putting on clothes. My fellow travelers seemed snug in their bags. Only one alberque had blankets for rent. In 2019,I walked the aragones and Salvador and...
I walked the aragones and Salvador in 2019 and treated everything with permethin, including my pack. I found that my back would break out in a terrible rash if I did not wear two shirts. I would suggest that you first spray a shirt to see if you are allergic.
I walked the Primitive in September and took a silk liner and was usually cold and getting up in the night to put on clothes in the dark. Only one albergue had blankets and those were for rent. My fellow walkers looked snug in their bags. Even on a hot day,it can get cold at night
I walked the aragones, and Salvador in 2017 using the exos 38,which was the perfect size. I use an existing 48 for backpacking when I need to carry a tent and more gear. It is too large for a camino,in my opinion. I see people on the Frances carrying steamer trunks, which is crazy!
I walked in 17 with only a liner. Walked to lugo and took the camino verde.walked in early september and was cold every night. Never saw a blanket until biomorto(for r ent. In oct.,,take a bag. I have one that is small and light. I am on the salvador right now and the low tonight in poladura...
They are not available in the States. You have to buy them from England, and they are just WONDERFUL! I have tried many types of poles, but these are far and away the best!
Peregrina 2000. Thanks for your post! My only blister on my last camino was one toe rubbing on another. I have altras and love the wide toebox, and zero drop. I wish that I had had these last time. Congrats on your recent finish! Buen Camino.
Boston, Forgive me if I am repeating what others have said. Forget the boots, like I said in the previous post, take a sleeping bag! I took a silk liner in 17 and was cold almost every night. Blankets were offered only once.I started on August 31,and it never got over 65 degrees F. You have chosen...
davebugg. I always seem to find myself agreeing with you,and do even more now. I have a week ankle that I was always twisting so wore high-risk boots for the ankle prote tion, and still turned my ankle several times a day. My son called me stumblefoot! I started wearing low-fat trail runners and...
On the primitivo in 17,I noticed several bloody spots on my mattress in an alberque. Obviously there were bed bugs, but had treated my silk liner, and had no problems. A french boy in a bunk next to me had a row of bug bites,so they must have been around. It might have just been luck, but probably...
I would take a light sleeping bag. I walked the Primitivo in 17 and was cold in just my silk liner and clothes. The Norte probably will be cool as well as the primitivo,if you are going that way.Better to be too warm than too cold. Also only saw one alberque that had blankets, and those for 3 euros.
I agree! These are by far the best poles I have ever had. I had always had numbness in my hands before, but now none. Anyone should try these out for themselves. You do have to buy them from merry old England.
I walked the Primitivo in September of 2017,and thinking it wood be hot only brought a silk liner. It never got more than 65,and I was cold many nights. Only one alberque had blankets. I am walking the Argonne and Salvador this fall and will be taking a sleeping bag. I would recommend taking one.
Dear mark, i have an exos 58 that I use backpacking,so bought an exos 38 for the primitivo in 2017. It was comfortable and much like the 58,except being smaller and lighter. It was more than adequate, size wise. I would say that if a person needs a bigger pack than this,it is a sign that he is...
