What lens or lenses did you used most if you carried a DSLR or mirrorless camera?

On my earlier Caminos I had a small Fuji with a telephoto lens. But, on the last two I upgraded to the Canon M50 (mirrorless) it comes with a small telephoto, but I use EOS 18-150, it handles all occasions.

How to pack Tilley hat (ltm6) into backpack?

I have several Tillies, one that spent too many years on a sailboat, I took to a hat shop that sold Tillies, gave them the hat, they gave me a new one, no questions asked. My Camino Tilly has gone some 2300 miles without a care.

    Hiking poles on planes USA

My wife and I flew Delta/Air France to Paris, Feb. 27, returned Mar. 23, I had both sets of our trekking poles in my carryon backpack, I do keep the rubber tips on the poles, so they don't look aggressive. There was no issue, going or coming back. Interestingly, I did not take my small Swiss...

    Backpack in airline holds

While my hiking poles have never been a problem, either inside the pack or tied on the outside, my problem has been my Swiss Army knife. For a while they allowed small knives, now they don't. I agree with Patch, I put the pack in a trash compactor bag and tie it to make a handle on it. It has...

A Great Way to Carry a DSLR camera on the Camino

I am a professional photographer using a Canon w/lens (18-300), but for the Camino, first, I am not walking the Camino for commercial photo reasons; secondly, while I do want to take photos, I am committed to making my load as light as possible; and while thievery, robbery, or other is not among...

    Osprey Kestrel... or not?

My wife carried a Osprey 46L (model unk) from Geneva to Santiago and loved it. If she had to decide between her pack and me, she would have picked her pack. Sadly, her pack was stolen, and Osprey no longer made that model. She now has an Osprey Sirrius 36L. It opens both top and front and...

    Osprey backpack rain cover?

On the first Camino (Frances) it rained a lot, and we had the separate Osprey rain covers for our Osprey packs, they worked well, but after much use developed a number of small holes (leaks), but Osprey has a lifetime warranty and readily replaced the cover. Now, as extra protection, I spray...
