I used to use Merrills, and after I put my first pair of Ultra Lone Peaks on I have been wearing them EVERY day since ( Camino Frances 2019) !! It took a week or so to get used to the zero heel drop but now and since, LOVE them.
I am a professional photographer and I took a Sony VR 100 with me when I did the Camino Frances in 2019. It worked as good as my high dollar, large and heavy pro cameras. It fits in the palm of your hand, and I used it on "auto" mode and it made over 3000 excellent photos. Great compact camera.
Look into Altra trail runners. I love The Lone Peak model. Lightweight, quick drying and super comfortable. I trekked the Camino Frances in 2018 (500 miles) without one blister!! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
