Buy a half liter bottle from local shop, it costs 20-40 cents and fill it from tap when it is empty. It is washable and also very light. I usually carry two or three of these and once a week buy new ones.
I'm 56 years old and weight 75 kilos and last time carried 12 kilos plus food and water and that made my vuoden less than 15 kilos. I had no problem with my kilos.

You can find gas canisters only in big cities. I'd suggest take an alcohol burner, so you can buy alcohol from every farmacia (250 ml Bottle about 2 euros). I know what i'm talking, two years ago I carried 650 kilometres gas burner for nothing, only place I found gas canisters was in Leon. This...
I found no place to buy canisters on Camino Madrid and Camino Primitivo, on Frances found one specialist trekking shop who sold those. Next time I take my Trangia.
