If You have Walked the Camino - Do you prefer boots or trail runners?
Chaco sandals...used boots for about 100km and ended up with blisters and tired feet. Switched over to my chacos and did 700km on my first camino. Chaco sandals pros and cons? (plantar fasciitis dramas)
I don’t have plantar fasciitis, however, I’m a Chaco’s fan...they are a heavier sandal for sure. I used mine for over 700km on the Francés...they do have some arch support as I cannot do without something. Also, I toss them in the washing machine when they start smelling. How long do your shoes last?
I’m from Oregon and used timberland hiking boots for the first 100km and developed blisters due to overheating...from there I used my Chaco hiking sandals for over 700km and I am still using these same sandals 2 years later. How big is your pack?
I used a 48L Osprey Kestrel for Camino Frances, SJPP to SdC. I never went of 14# even with water and it fit my frame of 5'2", 140# just fine. I loved having the extra room to fish things out and repack. I'll be using it again on my next Camino in Portugal... Kathie- Kathie Morton
