no, you do not take a tent. if you get someplace that is full you either walk to the next town, or call ahead then take a taxi to where you will stay, then come back in the morning. Say No! to rubber tips on your poles.
I am of the opposition opinion. I use walking poles every day and mostly I never take the rubber tips off. Good rubber tips provide more than enough traction day to day walking. On the Camino Frances, i never needed my rock/ice tips, I do in Canada in winter, but I never needed them on the...- buridan

Camino from Porto - Trekking Poles confiscated at airport!
It is.poles or two canes for me some days, i prefer poles, but usen rubber tips. People use.them for sll kinds of reasons, some medically like me,.others who knows, but even if just a habit, it is a good and healthy.one.- buridan

How to pack Tilley hat (ltm6) into backpack?
I have the same hat you push the hat together with the sides toward the center and it naturally collapses into 3 and fits vertically in ky pack, but remember to waterproof your hat with Scotchgard a few times before you get it too wet , just the top it nakes all the difference- buridan
