I used pacer poles on the Frances from SJPP to Santiago. I brought an extra pair of rubber tips but never had to use them-lost them in Pamplona. The original metal & rubber tips lasted all the way to Santiago and I usually put the rubber tips over the metal ones especially on slippery pavements...
When I got my pacer poles in the mail they already have rubber tips attached to the metal tips + a pair of extra rubber tips & a pair to use in the snow. I did not need the extra pair but I'm glad I brought them because I lost 2 rubber tips-must have fallen off my backpack waist pockets.
