Walking through forests early , or on the pathway out of Rabanal in the dark I was grateful for mine. I have now acquired a rechargeable version . It all depends on daylight hours snd temperature forecasts…
I loved my cwx compression tights on Camino and used front packs for all my gear , but now I am awaiting the arrival of compression merino tights ..with pockets that fit phones on the outer thigh. Lots of tights are now made with these. i also have firm fitting hiking tights which are heavier in...
Not always. I bought a pair of discounted boots sight unseen online (knowing I could return them) and they walked me in total comfort 800km (Frances). They fitted much better than the two "expert"fitted pairs I had already purchased. The thing is not all of us live near hiking /outdoor gear...
Just found this one for iPhones with the magnetic charging facility..very convenient while walking and no cable required to charge your phone. Obviously a cable needed to charge the battery pack .160gm...
Pibella all the way. I now own four ...never know when it could come in handy:) When bushwalking I particularly appreciate not lowering my nether regions within jumping distance of some nasty wild life ( big bull ants) and I prefer keeping my eye out for snakes from all directions , not to...
Whilst I agree about the shape and spread of the weight being natural with your own gear trial , I personally would not want to buy a new pack that had had someone else's gear in it ..think lurking bed bugs for example. I would hope the stores would not allow that!
Agree.I used ultralight foldable Helinox on the Frances and they were perfect and folded down into my front packs. At home I use a telescopic heavier duty Helinox for rough bushwalking and find them strong and virtually indestructible. So well worth the money!
A few mega bytes later , some Siri-ous sins and Pilgrimage was born!
The joy is that it continues to endure in this technological age. Toting my iPhone underlines that feeling of continuity through this digital age and into the next hopefully.
So, we have always been the same .. some go on Camino, some go on Pilgrimage, and the choice is up to the individual.
I felt surprised to learn that my inner journey could be perhaps incomplete, and that I am making a Camino, but perhaps not a pilgrimage if I take selfies, or pictures of a...
Looking at your questions " Are Pilgrims loading up on technology?"..well no , I didn't see so much "technology" as in GPS, laptops, solar powered rechargers etc, toted by overburdened pilgrims. Only smart phones (and perhaps a few tablets)..'cause I suppose they are , well.... smart..small ...
https://www.mont.com.au/women/women-shorts-pants Yjis company makes some fabulous gear. I just LOVE the Adventure shorts and they come in a long version..these have a half elastic waist , adjustable half belt and huge pockets like I have seen on no other garment. The legs are comfortably loose...
You are totally Correct. I should have sent it back not gone to the store. However . I may still take it along with me.I have a tiny Patagonia one that I really like for weekend use but i think its not big enough . The Maka 2 is about right. I will look at some others.
My Maka 2 buckle system broke on the first extended usage. The local place I bought it from said Arc'teryx
would only repair it, not replace. He put a new buckle on it for me. Not happy.
Depends what kind of sports bra..I wear sturdy supportive ones with adjustable broad straps that can be crossed over or not , depending what sits well under the backpack shoulder straps without rubbing. The fabric is wicking, the "weight distribution" feels comfortable and friction free ...
Later in September /October I am taking one of these Mont ZeroUltra from Australian company Mont - don't know where else it is available. Warning..comes at a price!
https://www.mont.com.au/zero-ul-std-ag7d-nylon-lhz-138gms 300gm packed weight- tiny.
