I find downhill sections to be more likely to cause foot blisters and falling. Hiking poles are very helpful.

Poles are great. They are like having a hand rail going up or down tricky sections. They may dissuade aggressive dogs. On flat stretches I simply disconnect my Z poles and loop them through the bottom of my shoulder strap.

I walked the last 100 klms of the Camino Francis October 2018 with a nine year old knee replacement without problems. Want to walk the English route but see you walked the Norte. Should we do that instead of the English route?
