    CPAP tubing and SD card

As others have said, go with your provider's recommendations. I have both a heavy home use CPAP and a lighter travel model which I took on two caminos. The data from both has always magically gotten from the machines to my provider without any effort on my part. In my opinion, any extra...

    Leg Pain

Get professional help! After struggling with increasing pain I had a physio work on me and tape me up in Burgos. After that I was able to continue walking, slowly at first. But after a few easier days I was back up to regular distances and was able to finish.

    Morgade bed bugs

Several years back I got into a bad infestation of bedbugs at a nice Holiday Inn in Seattle. It can happen anywhere. I put everything into the dryer and that took care of the problem. Now a bedbug inspection is the first thing we do upon arrival at a hotel, every time.

My first Camino Frances after the apnea diagnosis

I also use a cpap and the quality of sleep (and life) for me and any sleeping near me is much better for it! I have a Z2 model travel model from Breas Medical. It's light and worth the cost!

    Snoring - useful info?

I snored badly, did the sleep study and was diagnosed with apnea, which has a lot of long term health issues. I've used a cpap for several years now. The cpap really took care of the snoring problem and a huge additional benefit is that I definitely sleep better and am more rested in the...

    Mosquitoes and Flies

On the Frances in 2021, my brother wore white t-shirts. There were a couple of days that were heavy with flies, but they only swarmed him. It had to be the color of his clothing, we both bathed the same! 😊

    Travel CPAP sale code (US)

Thanks for posting this. I used my Z2 on the Frances in 2021. No humidity chamber, but it weighs just a pound. From the sounds at night in the albergues, I think many more people could benefit from the use of a CPAP

How to Reduce the Risk of Shin Splints While Walking a Camino

I injured myself on the CF last summer, following the "conventional wisdom" to always keep my boots laced tight. Had to take extra days off to see a physical therapist in Burgos. I learned that my feet need freedom to move and started wearing my boots in loosely laced "comfy slipper" style...

    Hot Water?

I walked the CF with my travel CPAP machine last year. Generally had no problem finding plugins. If we called ahead for reservations, I let them know I needed a plugin and was always accomodated.

Best way to deal with plantar fascitis and best shoes to wear

I had plantar fasciitis and was able to cure it completely with some exercises. Here's a link to a video of the treatment. In particular, the splaying massage exercise, but going all the way back to the end of my heel, was the most effective. I was very surprised how quickly this...
