I have never lost any weight while walking. Especially in Spain where the food is so good. Now I will say I never gain weight but I've never lost weight either. All the breads and cheeses.... I enjoy food and I enjoyed walking.
If it was my heal, I would run a needle and thread the blister. Leaving about a half inch of thread out both sides of the blister. Drain the blister, let the thread wick water out of blister. Cover with bandaid.
Tie your foot to the bed. Sounds terrible but we have a friend who got an extremely infected tooth and Sinus infection. She was transported to a hospital the following day. She was delusional from fever but she knew enough to tie one leg to a tree so she wouldn't wonder off before help came. (Or...
Over the years we've learned one thing, you can't prepare for everything. You can be ready for those issues that are common for yourself as a walker. I take care of my feet and know how to lace and knot my boots.We carry a;

If your backpack is fitted good you should not have an issue. Utilize the waist strap to keep the weight off your shoulders. If your cardiologist says it's good go for it.

You would be surprised how few opticians you see outside of the larger cities. The second pair in a soft case will take up very little space or add any significant weight.
Take the additional glasses.
Sausages and jerky are also high in sodium which can result in water retention. Might I recommend nuts and trail mix also. And include fruit's with portioned amounts of bread.
Sounds and discription sounds like a skin softener. If you are prone to blister's may I suggest articles on lacing and tying boots. Also duct tape. :-)
With legs together cross right foot over left and do toe touches. The cross your other foot and bend to toes again repeat in reps of 5.
Than another useful stretch is extend arms against a wall or door way, stretch on leg out behind you with the other bent in front of you. Push with the...
