Hi all, the lunch stop in Artieda was excellent, ok it was a climb up the hill but the views were worth the extra metres. Ruesta, I didn't book dinner or breakfast until checking in. Dinner was good served by very friendly staff, breakfast was left out so we could eat and leave at whatever time...
There were roadworks on a very narrow stretch of road before Estaut and Borce in early May. The advice given in Sarrance monastery and on notices enroute was to take the bus which we did. When I saw the narrow part of the road large vehicles had to negioate I was glad not to have walked it. Met...
I also enjoyed a fabulous night there on 6th May. Marianne was the hospitalera, everything was tip top. The Ritz, as she called it. The pub beside the albergue is closed, not sure of it reopening so Marianne was cooking nightly the dinner for pilgrims. Not easy without a shop in the village...
I enjoyed the quiet days walking with just enough pilgrims ahead or behind and to meet lin the evenings. Never more than 6/8. I would repeat this camino, esp from Oloran Sainte Marie, scenery wise.
9th May, Sanguesa was open for us, 5 pilgrims. The tourist office there said Monreal was not " officially" open. We walked there 10th May and were welcomed, had a good night there. One bar closed at 3pm and was closed following day. Other bar Cipri was open in the evening. Good puzzas served...
