Yes, I would not be opposed to staying there again, but would be open to new options as well. We stayed in a hotel room in Tineo, but saw the albergue, so we are giving that a shot. As far as Berducedo, we are heading onward to La Mesa. We will not be missing any of the places in our faves...
Here are a list of our faves:
Salas - Casa Suena - would give this place an 11
Fonsadrado - Portas des Grandes - very nice, comfy beds, clean bathroom
Lugo - Hostal Alba Lugo - Ask Pedro for a room on the backside
Lavacolla - Casa de Armancia - great food. Only 10K to Santiago in AM
Not 100%...
My point is that is seems like pilgrims should be concerned about what the locals along the Camino think about the situation. It seems like the locals are upset by the influx of disrespectful pilgrims that are being more demanding vs thankful. Seems like the solution is to be a bit more...
So, what am I missing? How is this nothing of our concern? The serious rise of walkers, and yes, this in NOT a myth, is impacting the lives of locals. The fact that you DON'T think that pilgrims should be bothered by this, really ticks me off. I have created a spreadsheet of how many folks get...
Congratulations!!! I Just want to send a very heartfelt thank you for allowing us to re-live our Camino Primitivo vicariously through your walk.. Looking forward to your compilation in the future. Best wishes for many more Buen Caminos!!!
From where you are, it is an easy well marked route that will drop you onto the road just past Lavacolla where you will cross over the highway to meet the masses on the Frances. Good Luck!
We pulled up just after Lavacolla in Villamaior at the Casa de Amancio. Lovely private room. Just over 5.5 miles to the Cathedral from there, and the big climb is behind you... Let's you roll into Santiago before the crowd.
Today was a tough road walk, if I remember correctly. Tomorrow is better in that there is an actual service road that parallels the highway, so the trucks aren't ripping by 3 feet away. The Twin Pines is the only show in town, so if there are others out there, they should roll in. Had serious...
We were located about 1k from town and that place was just shy of 26k, so I agree with you that it was more like 27k overall. There is a great store right up the hill from where you are staying to stock up on tomorrows supplies. Be sure that you do because there is NOTHING along the way. We...
Day 1 to Friol has one issue. When you get to the utility pole with at least 7 arrows plastered on it, both yellow and green, pointing both left and right, go right...
There are only 2 places that we scratched our heads about. Okay - maybe 3ish. The first place is just as you are leaving Friol. Follow the path as it curves to the right. On your left hand side is some sort of open air museum of old buildings. The path will dead end with a mill in front of...
Definitely second the recommendation to stay at the Alojamiento Los Hospitales. Jose and his wife are the best, they have a great dinner and breakfast, and they will make you a sandwich to take on either route. It also allows you flexibility to change your route should the weather be bad. There...
Hi, how did it go? We booked this alberque for the 22nd of May. Also curious as to availability of breakfast? Sounds like connecting to the Hospitales route is well marked...
Thanks!
