OK, I see! For me, from Ottawa, Paris is about the same, actually about $25 more... So Lyon it should be... except when I think about it, never saw Paris, so could be cool. On the other hand, I don't have that much time on my hands on this trip is not so urban oriented... Paris will be another...
I am curious... I am also planning a start in LePuy July 1st this summer. I come from Canada was planning to fly to Lyon and bus/train to LePuy (seems like about a 2-hour bus). Why Paris? A couple of people on this thread said Paris - agreeing it is probably more attractive option than Lyon, but...
Hey Mike!! Great stuff, great info above... the only thing that raised a flag to me in your initial message is the 22lb of your backpack. One of the best advice I had received before leaving for my first Camino in 2013 was to bring minimum gear and keep weight as low as possible. Opinion...
Hi,
I will be starting in LePuy on July 28... this week!! Not sure where I will be staying yet, but certainly will try and catch mass before leaving. I am from Canada.
May see you on le Chemin.
Cheers,
Daniel
Great info, thanks! I am leaving Canada July 27 and will be in LePuy on July 28. Might a stay there to visit. If anyone is going to be there at that time, please let me know. We could meet!
Cheers,
Dan
Wow, you are so lucky to have all that time... you plan from SJPDP to Santiago in 43 days is like very generouns, so no problem there at all!! That' under 19km per day if you walk every day, which is a breeze. But it permits you to stop and enjoy some palces, as I would of liked too. But I bet...
Awesome - I like that!! Thanks so much.... Please also see the message I just wrote above to Margaret... I like ending in Cahors.... for 12 day walk would be an average of 28km per day which is no problem. Would of liked to ga a bit lower this time, but no problem at all. Could extend my trip a...
Wow, thanks for this info I appreciate it. That's the kind of info I wanted to hear. That does seem like a plan. I do walk fast, but mainly because I have a time constraint. Last year my 800km in 26 days wasn't that bad though. But I do want to take a bit more my time for my next - averaged 31km...
Thanks Margaret!! I'm looking to do about 2 weeks (did the Frances last year in 26 days, but don't have that much time this time around :o( ... But I'd like to do something special as well and thought about a new route - this is why I thought about France. I think that finishing at SJPDP is...
OK, that's what I want to hear. Thanks!!! I'll check where I could start... any recommendation? I'd like to end in a city where there's something at least a bit special about the Camino....
Oh!! Thanks! I am near Ottawa and usually leave from here, but a direct flight would be much nicer!! Montreal is just 2 hours from here, so could take the train there. I'll check it out. I appreciate the note.
