    Agree with you totally.

Notes on the San Salvador after two recent caminos.

Mark I hope you enjoy the Salvador. For me it is the best Camino I have walked so far. In a way I just wish it was longer so as to enjoy the wonderful countryside, people, and just the peace and sheer beauty of the walk. I think September is a great month to walk any Camino in my experience...

Camino del Salvador - May 2018

Purky totally agree Oviedo is a wonderful city. I was there last September during the festival of San Mato and I didn't want to leave!

    Camino Salvador

FABULOUS route and yes, if you have the time add on the Primitivo. Lots of advice on this forum about both routes and Ender's guide is great. The Salvador is very quiet (well it was last year when I went in Sept). Then you meet a lot more in Oviedo with the Norte crowd as well as people starting...

Notes on the San Salvador after two recent caminos.

Lovely to read your Salvador experience. I agree it is a most wonderful camino and I just loved it and the wonderful Marisa and beautiful Oviedo which we were in when the great annual festival was on in September - fabulous! But oh boy that walk from Buiza to Poladura! It was a bit of a shock to...

Thanks Laurie and you are so right in recommending Sandra's Albergue at Herias. What an oasis and what an angel hospitaleria!

HELP -- From the Puerto de Pajares to the Pueblo de Pajares on the Salvador

Well I am walking this wonderful Camino and although I found La Robla a bit challenging -wow what views! Today we got to the bar and Parador at Puerto de Parajes and I just wanted to say but we decided to walk, given all the great advice from this forum. We left the bar and crossed the road and...

Back from the Salvador - Wow! And bird warning :)

Thanks Earthkeeper, I think I will just do the road walk into La Robla, instead of Enders detour which I have read about. As you say it's a long first day if you start from Leon and my hair goes curly enough without the added possible static from electricity pylons!! Hope you keep posting. I...

Back from the Salvador - Wow! And bird warning :)

Thank you @WestKirsty for your photos and story of the Salvador. Everyone it seems that walks this Camino seem to love it. I am looking forward to it myself in a couple of weeks after the Primitivo. It's rained non stop for a month in my part of Ireland so I am prepared for any rain! But a drop...

HELP -- From the Puerto de Pajares to the Pueblo de Pajares on the Salvador

HELP -- From the Puerto de Pajares to the Pueblo de Pajares on the Salvador

Think when I get to the bar, I will see what the best way is. At least I know generally what the options are (apart from down the hill to the left by the looks of it) and I am very grateful to all of you who have given advice, maps and hair-raising photos! I will post what I ended up walking in...

HELP -- From the Puerto de Pajares to the Pueblo de Pajares on the Salvador

Thanks for that @notion900 . Can I check then, you walked the official yellow route on Gunner's map? Also has anyone rejoined the yellow route easily enough by not going through industrial estate but by going in front of the bar? Its great to have different options. @notion900 did you many...

HELP -- From the Puerto de Pajares to the Pueblo de Pajares on the Salvador

Thanks to all suggestions. Must admit wben I have had to walk part of any N road in Spain I have always walked on the left. Though it does look a bit of a drop if I have to jump over the barrier to avoid something! Is the stretch in question about 500m?
