€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
From the official pilgrims office website today

"On Friday 2101 pilgrims arrived in Santiago" You better reserve a bed ...
Buen Camino, SY

Great I'll take my bed at home, its been great these past two nights getting re-acquainted with a real bed. But I do agree with SY, if you add in the usual number of "other tourists" there could be a real shortage of places for the average pilgrim. If this "over load" continues the city might have to put in place a shuttle bus back to the Mount of Gozo camp.

Lol, it already exists and it costs only 1 Euro ;-) plus Monte de Gozo is rarely 'booked out'. Another good option is an albergue In the entrance to Santiago – like Fin del Camino ;-)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Where are these numbers going to .?

And you have the Pilgrims who don't go to the Pilgrimsoffice.

Wish you well,Peter.

When I walked into the office from my fifth Camino, from Lisbon in mid-May I reconnected with my "second family," the Pilgrim Office staff. While I was there one of the managers told me that the daily arrival numbers are running about 20 percent percent, day-to-day over last year. Other staff concurred with that assessment.

If you recall, 2016 was a Year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis. As a result, there was an uptick in the arrival volume over 2015.

However, my friends and colleagues at the Pilgrim Office were then at a loss to explain the marked increase in arrival numbers this year. We discussed it, but could not identify a new film, book, or other news event that might provide a direct link to explain the increase.

I have been asking everyone with an interest in the Camino, and especially friends who live at Santiago for their conjecture. Everyone draws a proverbial blank on this.

If anyone has a clue or a reasonable hypothesis for the significant increase in daily volumes, please share it.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Cheaper airfare? There are quite a few good sales to be had and some price wars among the less expensive airlines.

It is the 'let's not walk in a Holy Year (far too busy) but the year before/after' effect ;-) Has happened before and will happen again in 2021. Buen Camino, SY

A positive feedback loop - more people happily walking the Camino telling more people who walk and tell more people? It starts slowly but picks up steam and ends up being exponential.
I tell 2 people, they tell 4 who tell 8 then 16 32 64...

I sure hope I'm wrong.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

Totally agree...the power of social media. On social media, I don't tell 1 person, I tell hundreds of "friends", who in turn tell hundreds etc etc. The exponential rise is far more accelerated
