Alternate sleeping arrangements

Dear all

After watching Paul Tobey's movie and reading thru some of the forum messages here, I keep hearing the Refugios keep filling up and there is some kind of a race to go to the next to find the best space. I dont think I would want to do that. I want to do the walk at my own pace to absorb the walk, spend time on my own and not join the rat race .

If I pack a sleeping bag, is it possible to sleep in one of the refugios or are there any accomodations. I intend to do the sarria - santiago pilgrimage in october

Regards
Bharat

Hello Bharat,

I think in October you should be ok. July and August, when most people are on vacation, are the busiest months and is when you really see the big crowds. As another option, there are also small pensions, hostals and private albergues along the way that can be very reasonable.

Good luck and buen camino!
