OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Anyone in SJPDP right now or very recently?

Many people are asking "What Covid tests/vaccines/etc. will I need and what are the travel restrictions?"

The answers are continuously changing, so you must check for yourself, close to the time of travel. The moderators recommend the following approach:

First, search your own country's travel restrictions.

Secondly, search the EU/ Spain's current travel restrictions and requirements. We thank vigilant forum members for recommending the following links as the most reliable sources of information:

1. EU official website - This gives an overview of the travel and health situation in the EU countries. https://reopen.europa.eu/en. A smartphone app is available, as shown on the website.

I am now leaving st Jean . Restaurants asking for the pass most everytime. It was a bit difficult to find a bed but finally found this gite. It had many empty beds. The owner was very warm.

I do not think you will get stuck as long as you can show proof from the French government (via email) confirmation that you submitted. Use your vaccination card and keep that confirmation email handy. Someone made an interesting point: As you have to fill in your email address in the application form, pay particular attention to this so that it is correct and especially when it contains numbers. Try to write 1s and 7s in the European/French way. I don't know whether it matters in the end but the person had a point, especially since nobody knows how they process the application forms.

Really hoping to be able to start from St Jean, but I’m prepared if need be to start in Roncesvalles.
Was curious if they were strictly enforcing the pass sanitairre at the gites and if I needed one to enter the pilgrims office to get my pilgrim passport. Don’t want to break any laws but also really want to walk the Pyrenees.
I’ll be in France for less than 16 hours.

No issue on the bus, went right over the border into SJ. Beautiful little town.

No issue with accommodation for me or my friend staying in two different places.

No issue at the Pilgrims Office.

Only time I was asked for the pass sanitaire was when entering restaurants. Was not allowed to sit down, but we were allowed to go inside and order our food to go. We got some pizzas and went and sat in a park with a bottle of wine.

So really no issues at all. Only thing is it’s 4:15am and I can’t go back to sleep because I’m too excited haha. Early start for me this morning! Wonder if there is a cafe that is open early?
