She has walked similar base camp (if not that one ).
Can't help you with K2 but I walked Three Peaks Three Passes last October which follows a more difficult and circular route than the standard Everest Base Camp trip (goes left after Namche Bazaar instead of right which is fairly straightforward to EBC).

It was the most amazing and difficult thing I have ever done! We went up to 5530 meters. On the way back we did walk up to EBC but as it was October there were no teams or tents. It was in fact a bit anticlimactic so glad that it was not the focus of the trip.

Thank you to everyone who has responded here - much appreciated and very helpful.
