Walking my first camino this year.
Hi everyone,

I will be arriving in St Jean this coming Saturday (May 9th) but I wont be there until after 10pm, can anyone advise me what my options are in terms of getting a pilgrim passport and finding somewhere to stay upon arrival? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First Timer.

Pilgrim's office opens at 7:30 in morning and you can get your credential there 10 o'clock is a bit late to be arriving for an albergue so why not lose the stress and book a room at a hotel?

Al last year the best advice I received was from you It was the contact info for the shuttle as they also know of all the places to stay. I have lost that contact info maybe they could help him with the late arrival info. Do you still have that Phone info?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Al I just remembered & have not had my morning coffee it is the bouricott shuttle folks I am asking if you still have their contact info. They were very helpful on everything since they live in the area.

Considering how busy it was when I got here today I'd say book somewhere. I'm not sure it's quite peak season yet but just in case. Plus you get one last chance for some comfort before you hit the road on the camino

and yeah I don't see a problem picking up your passport in the morning and then setting off! If you catch up to me on the way say hello. I'm setting off tomorrow.

Buen Camino!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Here's that information:

And FWIW, the friendly and helpful person who stamped my credencial in the SJPP pilgrims' office (2 months ago) was happy to chat; he said that May and Sept are the most crowded--so much so that there is little time for him to talk and to meet people. Not everyone is comfortable with that kind of uncertainty, so if you'd be more at ease having your first night on the road guaranteed, it might be a good idea to book. Plenty of time later to be more 'daring'.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Many thanks Roddy! Buen Camino!
