I will be staying one night in transit at Bayonne to recover from jet lag. Any recommendations for a hotel?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

n Bayonne the Monte Carlo, 11 rue Hugues, is a small, inexpensive place which conveniently close to the Gare. Here is their web >> http://hotel-montecarlo.allcommerces.com/. Next morning you can easily catch the early TER line 62 train to SJPdP.

Did not find an English translated web page so I had to send an email to find out how to make a reservation.

I can double on mspath. I stayed in Hotel Monte Carlo in 2011 (railway workers were on strike) in nice room with double-sized bed (but shared bathroom and toilet) for 31€. Also is very well situated just across the street of railway station Bayonne. At least one of the employee at the bar which is also a reception spoke English. Payment is possible with credit card.

If the jet lag is the only reason to stay overnight in Bayonne, reconsider to get to SJPDP anyway. There you could afford two nights for the same price in several albergues.

Or walk day one just the first 8km to Orisson (reservation is a must I believe) and divide the hardest first stage to Roncesvalles into two.
