Hi! I'm hoping to get some help with a logistical question. I am currently in Pamplona and have been walking since SJPP. My original plan was to walk until Burgos as I have to then take a train to Madrid and catch a flight home on June 10. (I hope all is well with the flight as the French strike caused the first leg to be cancelled!)
I was under the impression that I needed to be in a major city (like Burgos) to catch a train or bus back to Madrid, and I don't have enough days to walk to Leon. (I see on Brierly's map of Sahagun there is mention of RENFE tracks but I don't know if it's a stop and I can't figure out the RENFE site from my phone.)
I'd really love to walk some of the Meseta if possible! I still have 12 days available to walk.
Anybody know of buses/trains to Madrid between Burgos and Leon?
Sorry if convoluted and thanks for your help!

Have you looked into bike rentals to get you from Burgos to Leon? Some preigrinas I met told me they used rental bikes across the meseta, and the rental company takes the bikes back to Burgos.

Sahagun has a train station. Use Rome2rio.com or the app to find out the best transit option between any two places - works great in Spain!

I just checked Renfe's site out of curiosity. It looks like there are twice daily trains from Sahagun to Madrid. 1:45-4:00 pm, and 7:10-9:50 am.

I loved the Meseta and hope you have a chance to walk some of it. If you do get to Sahagun, you qualify for a half-way certificate (from the Church museum up on the hill). A bit of a commercial enterprise, sure, but the certificate is quite nice, would be a fitting conclusion to this part of you journey, and, most importantly! !, will really impress your friends.

Best of luck, whatever you decide.

I took a train to Madrid from Fromista about two months ago. There was one stop/train change, but no issues.

I took a train from Madrid to Leon, so surely there is one from Leon to Madrid.
