bus from Leon to Astorga

Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
I have had a look at the ALSA site to see when busses go from Leon to Astorga, but it keeps telling me there are none! Which of the Leon options should I be picking?
We'd like to travel either on Saturday 8 September or Sunday 9 September and I want to check that the bus runs during the weekend.

Thanks so much - do you know if you need to book in advance or would a day before be OK (bearing in mind we would need 11 seats)?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I wanted to bus from Leon and found it quite difficult because I was not exactly sure of my destination. I had to walk to the bus station and ask the man in the information booth for a timetable. He wanted to know my destination and then gave me a small printout from his computer. That is fine if you know where you wanted to go, but hopeless if you were trying to find a destination that worked for you. I was trying to evaluate distances between towns, etc and found it very difficult.

If you want to look at forward dates, do a search without a date (Consulta sin Fecha). The result gives you the date range for each run. These go to the end of the year: The day abbreviation for the run is Spanish, of course. S=Sabado, D=Domingo, etc.

Great Falcon, you must have worked hard to get these times
We found that the ALSA website doesn't always work well. Trying to find buses from Lugo to Leon gave 1 per day when in fact there are several, but you have to type in a Coruna to Oviedo. Then you get all the details.
Once you have your bus time you should be able to book, if you want to do so, but not more than about 6 weeks ahead, or sometimes 60 days. If all else fails try the ALSA ticket desk at your point of arrival in Spain. They will be able to advise you. On other threads some folk have said about problems with online tickets/lack of them.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I get these for Lugo to Leon with a no-date search: Perhaps the no-date search yields more results. Some of these runs stop in September, and some start in June.

I think you are right Falcon. That worked for us and we got a list like you have just posted when we were in the UK. Our problem was when we were in Spain, but then again at home we have to actually re-start the ALSA pages, not refresh them or go back. Weird.
