Camino de el Salvador

Time of past OR future Camino
primitivo in the future
Hello,I would like to ask an advice.Basically for a peace of mind I had to booked extra days even knowing that I will do the San Salvador in less days, but could not risk to book a flight later during the camino and find expensive flights back.So basically I would like to ask once I get to Oviedo ,does anyone knows if It is easy to for example walk maybe 3stages of the Primitivo and from there catch a bus to go back to Oviedo the day before my flight??Other option are all the hiking near Oviedo but it seems not that well connected by bus and I don't want to rent a car by myself, and taxi are expensive,I am in budget.
Any tips, advice, others group suggestions are appreciate.thanks

And just for piece of mind I read sometimes people with different route in the Salvador( passing by nearly villages),I am looking for the difficult one ,and mountain stages,is the original one what I am looking for or what is the difficult route?I am looking for that one.
Thanks to everyone in advance

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Just follow the arrows on the Salvador and you will go through the mountains.
If you meet Ender who marked the trail he will probably give you a brochure of other trails in the area. He will tell you about busses too.
Or you can look at Primitivo stages on www.gronze.com and then use www.rome2rio.com to find transport options.
All the best with your discoveries.

I don’t know what kind of distances you walk, but it sounds like you walk long days. As others have suggested, take a look at Gronze. https://www.gronze.com/camino-primitivo Their stages may be short for you, but Tineo is a good ending place because there will be public transportation back to Oviedo from there. Going further to Pola de Allande would also be a place with transportation, but places like Borres and Berducedo are likely not going to have anything. They are too tiny.

As far as alternatives to the Salvador, I don’t know of anything. There is one little detour you can take after Pajares and before Campomanes, but that’s just for Sandra’s albergue in Bendueños. Not really an alternative. Maybe you are talking about the new mountain alternatives on the Olvidado? The Olvidado intersects with the Salvador, either in Buiza or La Robla, depending on which alternative you take, and there are several alternatives there.

Buen camino, Laurie

Hospitales and Pola de Allande are options on the Primitivo. @giulianewinthecamino asked about options on the Salvador.

???? I am walking Salvador ,not Primitivo!

HI,yes probably I will walk until Tineo and then go back to Oviedo. Can someone tell me if there are buses for sure or not?In another forum they told a bus once a day but I guess it is wrong information. I was interested otherwise from Oviedo to hike Las Xanas, las Sanda de el oso, picos de europa ,Las Ubiñas..but any hike in the nature is ok.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The places I mentioned are differents hikes but are not well connected by buses..taxi and accomodation near by,are expensive for someone in budget like me,I will check then with locals when I ll be there but I guess doing a little bit of Primitivo until Tineo ,it can be a good easy option. Some people in others forum told me to walk a piece of camino de el norte from Oviedo ,but I think it is less nature and landscape than Oviedo to Tineo. Thanks for your tips !

Check www.gronze.com for the standard route.

Yes, you can walk a few days and get a bus back to Oviedo.

Thank you! I checked and I can see that I actually can do 3stages of the Primitivo. I wish I can meet Ender , which village he lives?is it common to meet him on the way?thanks

Ender lives near La Robla. If he sees the shades up at the albergue, he frequently stops in. You could post on the olvidado or salvador facebook page and tell him when you will be there.
