Hi. I am trying to find out a bit more about del Norte right at this moment as my son is on the Frances but has a severe reaction to poplar pollen. He is wondering if del Norte might be better, and are there enough albergues open etc to make it work. He is s currently close to Estella and can get public transport . I would really appreciate any info. Thank you.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Is he going to do the meseta if he stays on the Frances? He might just be better switching now.

Looking at weather.com which has pollen counts by city, Burgos is high today and Santander has none. Have a check yourself.

Thank you for your reply. Yes he was planning on doing the whole Camino. I gather you think the Meseta could be bad. I will send your reply. He is carrying on to Estella and might find transport out esp if the day does not go well.

I think all routes are busy right now but if he is coping with the bed rush on the frances then he will cope on the norte. Maybe book private for the first couple of days to give some additional peace of mind?

Good idea. Thanks. Although a shift in plans I think del Norte would be lovely.

I am currently on the Norte, started in Irun on May 1
We have seen Very few pilgrims. The most I have seen was today and we are near Llanes. I am not staying in Albergues so I dont know if they are crowded. However, all the floweres on the Norte are now blooming! It is beautiful!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I will be starting in Irun on the 18 May, and like you I don't do Albergues, all my accomodation is booked for the whole Camino. Stay Safe.

It sounds wonderful and I will pass your comments on. At present he is trying to see if he can cope with lots of meds. I hope to do del Norte in the next year.

I also would like to note that water is NOT as plentiful as I anticipated! No refill sites the last 2 days and lots of cafes are closed.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I am currently in zarautz and walked today from San Sebastián. Saw about 12 pilgrims all day, lots of flower blooms and a lot of Cottonwood puffs on the ground.
I walked the Norte in 2018 and compared to then pricing has visibly risen.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
