Can I get from Estella back to SJDP on a saturday to make a flight from Biarritz on a sunday.

My guess as to your best bet is to take the bus from Estella to San Sebastian, then another bus to Biarritz. On my first camino, I was with others & we went from Logrono to San Sebastian, passing through Pamplona, then on to San Sebastian. In San Sebastian, they took a bus back to Bayonne to fly out that evening. I can't recall if this bus stopped in Estella, but there are so many buslines going to Pamplona, you shouldn't have many problems.

On edit: Is there any particular reason you need to get back to SJP? Otherwise, you'll have to take a taxi from Roncesvalles to SJP as there is no bus service that way.

Didn't want to re-edit, but after doing some poking around with Google (because I knew there had to be a better answer), I found this:

It appears there are 2 buses on Saturday that will get you to San Sebastian (or better yet, Irun).

Once in San Sebastian (or Irun), you can get a bus to Bayonne or at least to Hendaye, which is in France. From Hendaye, you can get to Biarritz.

According to this, there is a bus from the Biarritz Airport to Hendaye, so I'm sure there's a bus going the other way too. http://dipc.ehu.es/arubio/dipc/bioex_travel.html

Keep in mind that schedules do change & your best bet is to be aware of all the possibilities & to consult with the Travel Information (TI) offices frequently. They are mines of information!

Thanks for all the info I will check it out. I dont really need to return to SJDP from EstallaI need to get to Biarritz to catch a flight home. I just assume i need to go back through SJDP.
 
NP, Edward. Just look at the map above your post. While Estella isn't on it, it is between Logrono & Pamplona. Follow the yellow line from Pamplona up to San Sebastian, & you will see that it connects to Irun & Bayonne. Biarritz is between those 2 cities.

When I looked more closely at the links, it appears that the bus goes to "Hendaye frontera." Frontera is "border" in Spanish, so you may only need to take the 1 bus to Hendaye, then another from Hendaye to Biarritz.

I don't know if you have found your solution yet, but here is what I can offer you:

1) There is no need to go through Pamplona. The bus company that operates directly between Estella and San Sebastian is called LA ESTELLESA, S.A. Here is their website address: http://www.laestellesa.com. I don't know on which Saturday you need to travel, but I typed in 5 March as a test. There are two buses that not only travel to San Sebastian, but even carry on directly to Hendaye on the border. One is a daily service that originates in Logroño and picks up passengers in Estella at 10.45 a.m. (arriving in Hendaye at 12.15 p.m.); The other operates only some days of the week, including Saturday, and passes through Estella in the evening at 17.15 (arriving 18.45). Cost of a one-way ticket is 11,32€

2) Once in Hendaye you can get the train to Biarritz. There are a number of them each day. On Saturday, 5 March, for example, you could catch the train at 14.03 and be in Biarritz half an hour later. Then you could get yourself an inexpensive hotel room for the night and catch your plane the next day.

Hi my Spanish is brutal and having trouble negotiating the bus sites if I get a 10:45 bus to Irun from Estella with La Estellesa can someone tell me when I'm likely to get to Biarritz city. I can't figure if I can get a train or bus from Irun or when.

Arrive Irun - Front Hendaya - Parada en Puente de Santiago
(Which is 'stop at the Santiago Bridge')
From whence you cross the Santiago Bridge from Irun to Hendaye on foot.
After crossing the bridge, turn left and walk towards the railway tracks then turn right and continue till you reach Gare d'Hendaye.

Or
Leave Estella 1045 and arrive at Irun Renfe Station at 1300, exit the Renfe station, turn right then walk across the bridge over the tracks to Station Colon on the left (North) side of the street.
Take Euskotren from Station Colon to Station Hendaia which is co-located with Gare d'Hendaye.

From Gare d'Hendaye
a. Take Transports64 bus #816 to either Biarritz Airport or Biarritz La Negresse leave 1323 arrive La Negresse 1433 (vicinity of Gare de Biarritz). Walk 1 block to Gare Biarritz and take Chronoplus bus A1 to downtown Biarritz.

b. Take SNCF train to Gare de Biarritz and then Chronoplus bus C to either Biarritz airport or A1 to Biarritz City.

Your other option is to get off the Estellesa bus in San Sebastian. ALSA and PESA offer bus service from San Sebastian to Biarritz. PESA stops at Gare d'Hendaye and ALSA stops at Irun Renfe Station.
