We have been planning our trip now for almost 3 years and we finally have booked our flights to Madrid on July 12,2015....
Any advice travelling from Madrid to SJPP?

Take the bus from terminal T-4 to Pamplona, then take the bus to SJPdP. By July of next year, the SJPdP bus probably will be three a day.

Upon arrival in Madrid airport I would take the train or cab to Madrid Puerta de Atocha train station. Then catch the train to Pamplona. The train provides more comfort and space versus the bus. I would arrange with Corazonpuro.es to pick me up at station and spend the night with other Pilgrim at their place. In the morning, they will drive you to SJPdP. While there are a variety of options to the question you posed, I believe this is the best alternative and alleviates the perceived or real stress of getting to SJPdP.

Gracias Ivar!! tenemos la ventaja de que yo hablo castellano...nada mas es cosa de preguntar, pero al mismo tiempo nos gustaría no perder tiempo, llegar a SJPP hacer un descansillo de un día para sacarse la fatiga del vuelo, y salir refrescados y listos!!!

Thanks Joe... this sounds like a pretty good deal and maybe a feasible option...and yes, the train is always my preference....

Bad choice of words and syntax, "we have finally booked our flights". Nothing at all final in that, you must realize that this is but the Lao-tzu-ism of "The Journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step", here stepping onto the airplane and walking 850 kilometers and not 1000 miles. Now is the fun part, planning, maps, guides, equipment decisions, worry, and elation. You are very lucky! Use this Forum and exploit the collective knowledge! Buen Camino

I prefer the bus to Pamplona over the train.
Easy to catch, right outside T4.
Big comfie seats and excellent HUGE windows for sightseeing.
A nice trip that drops you off right at the bus station, where you can either walk to a hotel (preferred to stay in Pamplona a day or two so you adjust to time-change and see the city) or catch your bus to SJPP.
If you spend a few days in Pamplona now, you can either stop BEFORE or walk PAST it when you're on the Camino. There are some smaller and very nice albergues up past the city as well as the wonderful one right before Pamplona in Trinidad de Arre.
I vote bus.

Yeah, that was a pretty dang easy bus to catch and inexpensive. I made advance reservations on it and all I had to do was walk out the terminal and step into the bus. Bus was comfortable. No complaints. Did have a bus change before Pamplona, but don't remember the name of the town.

I used that option to get to SJPdP on my second Camino. It worked out very well and cost effective. Nice place to stay and the couple that runs it are very gracious. Included dinner that evening and breakfast in the morning.
