Flying into Rome

Time of past OR future Camino
Le Puy - Santiago - Finesterre (July-October 2014)
Hello Everyone,

I hope to walk the Camino from Le Puy to Santiago this summer. Right now, I'm planning on flying into Rome from the United States.

What would be the best way to get from Rome to Le Puy? Some research has suggested taking a train from Rome to Marseille, and then a bus (or even a train?) to Le Puy. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help, and I hope to see a few of you out there,

You need to define best.

Cheapest /quickest will be to fly.

If your dates work then it looks like Ryanair would be less then €50

Wow. I had heard Ryanair was cheap, but I really had no idea it was that cheap!

Thanks very much.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
We caught the fast train from Milan to Geneva, changed onto the French SNCF system from there via TGV to Clermont-Ferrand, then to Le Puy. All by train, which we enjoy.
