Flying to Biarritz late Thursday 6/9

Hi all, I’d appreciate any advice on the best options for my arrival in Biarritz next week on Thursday evening at 2055. Seems I’ll be too late for any public transport. Would it be best to stay somewhere near the airport, catch a cab to Bayonne, or are there any other good (not too expensive options)?

I don't have any inside track on this Micht and maybe someone else does. But... the tripadvisor Bayonne message board suggests a taxi will cost 15 to 20 Euro. I do however see a bus on my google maps lookup just now (excuse me if there are more obvious sites to use, I'm not the smartest smart phone user) that leaves Chassin at 22:01 arriving at Bayonne 22:19. That's on the Thursday. It's a 1.6 km walk (20 mins) from airport to that bus stop. That's got to be way cheaper than a taxi though not so convenient. I can't see a cheap stay local to the airport. As you might expect. But there are good deals at Bayonne through Airbnb (circa 30-35 Euro) that are close to the centre and train station and hostels too I understand.

Unfortunately, there are no buses running from Biarritz airport by the time your flight arrives (!) The nearest one stops 1.5 km away, and you'd never find it in the dark.

I would suggest spending the night near Bayonne railway station (always cheaper than near the airport, plus a good selection of places to eat and plenty of cheap hotels/AirBnB/hostels) but you'll have to get a taxi. I doubt you'll be the only person in that position, so look for fellow walkers in the arrivals hall and suggest a taxi share. It's about a 15-20 minute journey.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying and your advice. Arriving late was not my intention but my flight into Paris means I’ve had to leave time to get through customs and therefore the late domestic flight. Was trying to avoid the cost of a taxi - hoping I can share with others.
