Help! How to get to Sarría from Santiago de C.?

Megan

New Member
I'm studying in Granada, and I'm meeting up with my mother to do the Camino starting in Sarría, but I only have the day to get there.

Through a combination of planes and buses I found a way to get to Santiago de C., but I won't arrive there until Saturday evening.

How do I get to Sarria from here? I looked into buses, but I think they stop running by the time I get there. About how much do you think a taxi would cost?

Thanks

It is about 129 kilometers, so expect a normal price of about 100E. Rates are higher on Sundays and holidays, though.

The last bus to Sarria leaves Santiago around 1840.

Check out monbus for info.

A taxi from the Santiago Bus Station to Sarria costs €140 (this was the price on 17/09/2013).
I know of some people that haggled hard, and got the price down to €120.

You could try getting to Lugo by bus on your first night, and then get the first bus to Sarria from Lugo the next morning - 30 mins from Lugo to Sarria

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
