Help with planning Nov 2019

Time of past OR future Camino

Hi, we have only 7 days on this trip and I'm looking for advice on sections to walk between Seville and Zamora in November 2019. Merida, Casares and Salamanca look really interesting places and an option is that we walk for a few days and then bus it ahead and then walk the next few days. What sections have people found the most interesting to walk? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi. I did the VDLP from Seville to Salamanca this Spring. I would recommend the cities that you have listed for your trek. There is good bus service between the towns so it is easy to hop ahead quickly if you run out of time. I stayed at the Albergue las Veletas in Caceres and really enjoyed it. It is right on the route. Other spots that I liked were La Casa de Mi Abuela in Aldenueva and Hostal Escala Luna in Salamanca. I hope you enjoy your walk!
 
Seven days is very short! If you start bussing to and forth you will have no time to actually experience walking the Vía de la Plata. You will have to choose between visiting cities and walking. If you are arriving in Sevilla, start from there and walk the six stages to Zafra, a delightful little town with good communications, and then travel back to Sevilla.

Hi Kathleen. I stayed at the Albergue las Veletas when I last walked to Caceres. Do you know if they still have private rooms? What did a bed cost you there and how many pilgrims were in one room? Thanks so much. I liked that place a lot! (and I ran into Luka on the way out of the door! )
 
I agree with eamann that 7 days isn't really a long time. In Seville, besides the Cathedral, I suggest stopping at Italica. Merida is worth a day's stay, as is Caceres.
