How long might it take to walk the Camino Portugues Costal route?

Hi.
Im planning on walking the Camino Portugeuse Costal rout in July from Porto to Santiago and was wondering how much time to allow. I have walked the Camino Francais a couple of years ago and like to walk quickly.
Also is the costal route fairly well signposted? Im not fond of getting lost.
Id appreciate any advice from those that have walked this Camino.

I don't see the new Portuguese guide including the 3 variations. Arrived in Santiago and would like to head down to Porto to do the litoral (not the Costa).

Ltfit - the CSJ has paper copies and the Coastal and Littoral guide is available for Kindle from all Amazons. If you still have difficulty please email me.

Downloaded the Kindle app on phone and made an Amazon account but only found the Portuguese guide by you and Laurie, not the most recent one. Then went to the CSJ Facebook page where I first saw your link but Amazon says not available (see above picture).
Tomorrow I am off to walk to Finisterre so not urgent but by the weekend I would like to book a train to Porto.
Any suggestions?

I can easily “Buy now with 1-Click” no problem. So it is certainly available.

Tried again and found the guide on the Amazon page but after 'Buy now..." I receive a message "This title is not currently available for purchase"

Mostly walking the Camino litoral, it took us 9 days from Porto to Santiago - not sure of our averages, but for the entire trip (we started in Lissabon), we walked about 33km per day on average.

And there's lots of signposts - not as many on the Camino Frances, but still plenty. And if you go wrong, the locals will help you back!

Hi all,
On my 6th day of the Senda Litoral and Caminho Portugês da Costa. To be honest, I followed the coast the first 2-3 days then weaved back and both. Prefer the diverse paths on the Costa route, especially yesterday from A Guarda. Spectacular seascapes and then up over the mountain along an old Roman road.

Now having my first coffee about 4 km from Vigo. Had a rain shower but the sun is now out now and have wonderful view of Las Islas Cíes. On to Redondea to join the Interior.

Today not my favorite - Ramallosa - Vigo - Redondela (maybe because I dislike downhills and the one into Redondela lasted forever!) Only saw one pilgrim on the way but Xunta Albergue is full with those coming from the Interior.

How was Lisbon-Porto?

haha, in Vigo we finished a complete marathon - 42 kilometres and 195 metres - so it was a hard one for us too!

I really liked the Lisbon-Porto section - it's hard to compress it into short sentences, but why did I like it so much?
* Few pilgrims, so I could really enjoy the company of my wife!
* First time I met the Portuguese people - soooo nice and helpful
* I'm a history buff, so Conimbriga and all the old Roman stuff got me excited
* Beautifull - I simply found the architecture and the landscapes beautifull
* Lots of cobblestones! But you know that...
* The weather was perfect for walking - we went in March/April, so it was cool and not too wet
* The food! A lot better than in Spain - I didn't think that would matter som much as it actually did. Roasted piglet in Mealhada is in my personal top-5 of meals ever eaten.

Enjoy your evening and the next days - I'm sure there'll be lots of friendly pilgrims along your way now

Thanks for the info but I think that I will avoid Portugal for a while. With 8 different Caminos under my belt, I must admit that the Portuguese Caminos (Interior and Costa) are low down on my list of preferred Caminos. That said, the weather has not been ideal. I actually had better weather last March when I walked La Rota Vicentina from Santiago do Casem to Sagres - now that's a route to repeat if you love raw nature and no frills.

Yes, I know those 42 km days, have done it twice since Porto. Today Redondela - Caldas de Reis. Probably will head into Santiago tomorrow. The weather continues to be cool with the occasional showers (it was 15 c and rainy when I arrived in Pontevedra at 10.00).

How are the albergues? Plentiful? Inexpensive?

I arrived in Santiago today after doing the Caminho Portugês da Costa from Porto and stayed in Municipals or Parroquial albergues all the way for €6.00, sometimes with sheets and a towel (in Viana do Castelo).

To me, there was plenty of accomodation, but I didn't use so many of the albergues. And yes, they were inexpensive

You can filter the sheet, so it only shows the albergues for easier viewing
