I lost my brown glasses on the pyrenees route!

I will be walking camino frances in may
Hi, I started from el camino from SJPDP and unfortunately lost my glasses on the pyrenees route. I tried to walk back to find it out, and I met a guy who said he found the glasses but put it on one of the pole left side of walkway. It was too far and too late to go back to where he found the glasses... He said he found them between Croix (where the grave is) and Fountaine De Roland. I am shortsighted so if I dont have glasses it will cause huge problem to me. It is a brown glasses with metal bridge on sides. If anyone walk pyreenes tomorrow could you please check my glasses is there? Thank you!

2024 edition: The Brierley Camino Frances Guide
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I believe that it may be possible for you to get a pair of replacement glasses made quickly in Pamplona. I cannot give any more information than this, as I read it in one of the many books on the camino which I read before reading last year. A pilgrim was resting and left his glasses behind when he moved to avoid a large grass cutter, which ran over his glasses. He got his eyes tested and his glasses replaced very rapidly in Pamplona. As I remember it, he said that it was a blessing, as his new glasses had an updated prescription which gave him a much clearer view of the camino. However, it stands to reason that a city the size of Pamplona would have facilities for making eyeglasses. Good luck in getting your glasses back or replaced. If your vision is as bad as mine, you might not be able to proceed without them.
 
Get a Spanish mobil number + data while on the Camino
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
"glasses" in espanol is "gafas". Go to to the pharmacia and as for gafas. They will sell you cheap stuff that will enable you to read. That is, if you are able to read this post, of course. ;-)

My vision is not too bad, I can see what is in front of me. I was thinking of buying a pair of glasses at Pamplona, but I have no idea how expensive it will be. In my country, glasses are quite expensive. (At least round 2-300 euros).

If you do not have your eyeglass prescription with you, you will want to ask the optometrist before you get your eyes tested what it costs to have glasses made and how long it takes. You could always follow Alex Walker's suggestion first and see if a pair of non-prescription glasses from a farmacia would do you for the present. You can just try them on until you find the ones that are best for you. I believe that non-prescription glasses are generally very cheap. Good luck and buen camino.

A reminder to mark everything, glasses, phone, passport, credential, etc. with your email address. Most people would email if they found them and you can arrange to recover them.
A phone number is not as useful as many people do not have a Spanish phone number...or willing to call an expensive foreign number.
The email works pretty simply.

My optomotrist told me to use 1.00 reading glasses for my distance problem and they work fine. I didnt know you could do that either.
 
While on the Camino I lost a lens due to a screw falling out. Luckily I had prescription sun glasses. It took me 3 days of walking to find a shop in a large enough town to get the lens & screw. It took an extra day of stay but it was worth it as when it got dark it was bad but you will find you can't see normally but just try to let those around you that their eyes will be requested. Most will simply keep you informed.
Good luck, oh & the price was way less than the U.S. So if you live in any country other than Spain I think you will be very happy with the cost. I found the Pharmacias to be a wealth of info & kindness.
