Hi I am heading off next week to do the Camino Portuguese a mixture of costal and interior My question is I have a spare day in Pontevedra and wonder is it worth a detour to Combarro For the day I do not wish at this stage to do the Variante Espiritual but watching a video on the Variante it looked beautiful any advice would be welcome

In my opinion, tourist trap with very little to see

Thank you for your reply that's the sort of stuff I wanted to find out

We walked the coastal route and the Espiritual in June. Combarro is a lovely town, very touristic. The Espiritual is very beautiful. We followed also the route del Piedra de Agua. It's worth to do it !!

Greetings Ajrk!
I am to arrive in Portugal on Wednesday, the 13th. (from the Midwest in USA). I plan to stay in the Lisbon area until Sunday... doing some sightseeing before starting Camino. I will be staying at Poet's Hostel. Lmk if you plan to do any specific sightseeing & when you are actually planning to start your trek. It's always nice knowing a fellow pilgrim or two before arriving! I just finished the Frances Camino in July, and am very much looking forward to walking the Portuguese route!

Buen Camino!

Hi Lisa
As I write this I am about to head to Dublin airport for my flight to Porto as that's where I start my Journey. Like yourself I completed the Frances but mine was Last April/ May and loved it so all excited to be starting out again although this time a much shorter route due to Time constraints You will Love Lisbon. I will be about two weeks ahead of you but let me know how you are getting on
Buen Camino
